Lawson House, the former YMCA building at 30 West Chicago Ave., has been transformed. It now features 406 affordable housing units, each with a kitchenette and private bathroom. A portion of the 19th floor is being converted to a rooftop terrace, which may be used as program space for social service organizations. Historical elements such as stairwells and a small chapel with stained glass windows on the third floor have been preserved. The illustrated presentation will feature the design, process, and ultimate reinvention of Lawson House, which was completed in April 2024.
Cornerstones, a group of couples and singles over fifty, gathers monthly for dinner and a program. The cost to attend is $30 for dinner and the program. Registration is required
