Honky Tonk BBQ Event with the Fat Babies

Join us for some of the best BBQ in the city and listen to a live performance by the popular local jazz band, Fat Babies.  And if that wasn't enough, our multi-talented member Bonnie Moore will be offering short jive lessons beforehand.

These Fat Babies are not just another “Dixieland”
band. They are a working band who know the
traditional jazz idiom inside and out, and their
repertoire includes the usual standards as well as
obscure Oliver-Morton-Armstrong tunes and pop
tunes from the ’20s and early ’30s.

They have come together to pay respect to the New
Orleans and Chicago traditions as well as just to
have some good old-fashioned fun with this music,
and the result is a musical miracle that we are all
lucky to enjoy!

Bonnie Moore, CADS Social Volunteer, CAF Docent, and
competitive dancer will also be offering a short jive lesson
before the Fat Baby performance!

Food will be served buffet style from 1:30 to 2:30
No Table Service / Cash Bar
